..there was a family that lived
Life is way too short not to be living your dreams. Make big goals, overcome your fears, inspire others, and cherish every moment you have with those you love.
My husband and I are far from perfect and we have made so many mistakes learning how to be great parents, spouses, friends, and overall good people. What we have learned is that each time you fall on your face you are that much closer to a new mountaintop. Also maybe it will have a view of a gorgeous beach with crystal clear turquoise water. 🤩
Those beautiful beaches called our name. We left the comfort of our home in San Diego to explore the warm waters of the Caribbean on our sailboat Pegasus.. to make things even that much more interesting, we didn't even know how to sail! But that just made the journey that much more exciting. After a year on the beautiful ocean we chose a new home base on land and now we continue to travel the world, meet amazing people, experience new cultures while teaching our children to spread love and that every moment is precious so you have to make the most of every day.
Want to call us weird? Thank you! Just don't call us normal. Our family is anything but that. In late 2020/early 2021 alone we RV’d to all of the lower 48 states in the United States with the kids, put our house in California on the market, moved our business out of the office, and bought a boat.
And that was just one year in our wild life...
Along the way we will share with you how we live this life and are able to laugh together at all the things we continue to get wrong. We hope that you will be inspired to live your dreams as we chase our version of happiness.

Did you mean to have THAT many kids?
Actually, yes. With only 1 child we were afraid we would smother the poor kid. With 5 or more we were concerned about each child not getting enough quality time. Being blessed with 2 boys and 2 girls we figured we better quit while we were ahead. And 4 is just the perfect number for us.
How did you meet and get to marry such an amazing man?
Ahh this is a good story. I met my best friend and incredible husband at church. We were both teaching 2nd graders on Sundays and he captured my adoration as I watched the kids laugh and climb all over him. Of course I was just a 17 year old homeschooler who hadn’t finished high school and he was a 24 year old business owner…but, those were only details.
What is your favorite place in the whole world?
Oh boy. This is a hard question to answer. In the arms of my husband...awe. Antarctic, Alaska, Wyoming, Hawaii, New Zealand, Phillipines, there are soooo many beautiful areas in the world. The most special of all? Probably the Exumas in the Bahamas. Crystal clear turquoise water, teaming with marine life, in what feels like the largest swimming pools in the world, with hardly no one in sight...paradise!
Where else do you want to travel?
Raja Ampat, Vietnam, Singapore, Turkey, India, Russia, Poland, just to name a few. We want to sail around the world and RV around Europe. Oh the list is soooo long. When you begin to travel you realize the world is not so big and you could spend your lifetime exploring nonstop and never see everything. You also realize that people are pretty much the same everywhere, that we should treat each other with kindness, respect, and do what we can to preserve our planet for future generations.
How do you afford to live like this?
I am married to a thoughtful and brilliant man. Sure, he could make more money if he spent more time away from us. But somehow he has created a business that allows him to help people yet takes very little of his time and provides our family with everything we need and more. We are incredibly grateful.
Can you teach me how to make money while I travel?
Matthew has been asked this question quite a lot over the years. He’s promised me that if enough people show interest he would actually put together a program that teaches just about everyone how to earn money, how to invest, and how to achieve freedom and happiness and not feel constrained. If I get enough heartfelt requests then I know I can convince him to take the time to put together everything you would need.
What is it like traveling almost full time?
A struggle and the one of the greatest experiences you can ever do in your life. Make sure to travel with someone you get along with and pets are popular companions. Life comes with its struggles. You might as well endure those struggles while exploring new lands. The only regret you will probably have is not getting started earlier. Honestly it is such a blessing to see so much of this world.
